Stronger
Ooh hey, yeah
Hush, just stop
There’s nothing you can do or say, baby
I’ve had enough
I’m not your property as from today, baby
You might think that I won't make it on my own
But now I’m…
Stronger than yesterday
Now it’s nothing but my way
My lonliness ain’t killing me no more
I’m stronger
That I ever thought that I could be, baby
I used to go with the flow
Didn’t really care ‘bout me
You might think that I can’t take it, but you’re wrong
‘Cause now I’m…
Stronger than yesterday
Now it’s nothing but my way
My lonliness ain’t killing me no more
I’m stronger
Come on, now
Oh, yeah
Here I go, on my own
I don’t need nobody, better off alone
Here I go, on my own now
I don’t need nobody, not anybody
Here I go, alright, here I go
Stronger than yesterday
Now it’s nothing but my way
My lonliness ain’t killing me no more
I’m stronger

I got my first real six-string: bought it at the five and dime,
Played it ‘til my fingers bled; was the summer of sixty nine.
Me and some guys from school had a band and we tried real hard.
Jimmy quilt and jody got married; i shoulda known we’d never get far.
Oh, when i look back now, that summer seemed to last forever,
And if i had the choice, yeah, i’d always wanna be there.
Those were the best days of my life.
Ain’t no usein complainin’ when you got a good job to do.
Spent my evenin’s down at the drive-in and that’s when i met you.
Standin’ on your mama’s porch, you told me that you’d wait forever.
Oh, and when you held my hand, i knew that it was now or never.
Those were the best days of my life.
Back in the summer of sixty nine
Man, we were killin’ time, we were young and restless, we needed to unwind.
I guess nothin’ can last forever, forever, no!
And now the times are changin’; look at everything that’s come and gone.
Sometimes when i play that old six-string i think about you;
Wonder what went wrong.
Standin’ on your mama’s porch, you told me it’d last forever.
Oh, and when you held my hand, i knew that it was now or never.
Those were the best days of my life.
Back in the summer of sixty nine

Look into my eyes, you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart, search your soul
And when you find me there
You’ll search no more
Don’t tell me it’s not worth trying for
You can’t tell me it’s not worth dying for
You know it’s true
Everything i do, i do it for you
Look into your heart
You will find, there’s nothing there to hide
Take me as i am, take my life
I would give it up, i would sacrifice
Don’t tell me it’s not worth fighting for
I can’t help it, there’s nothing i want more
You know it’s true
Everything i do , i do it for you
There’s no love, like your love
And no other could give more love
There’s nowhere unless you’re there
All the time, all the way
Look into your heart, baby
Oh, you can’t tell me it’s not worth trying for
I can’t help it, there’s nothing i want more
Yeah, i would fight for you
I’d lie for you, walk the wire for you
Yeah, i’d die for you
You know it’s true
Everything i do, i do it for you
Everything i do, darling
I would see it through
I would see it through
Oh yeah
Yeah, search your heart
Search your soul
You can’t tell me i would die for
I’ll be back, yeah
I walked the wire for you
I would die for you
Oh yeah, i would die
I do it all the way, all the way

Category: B , Bryan Adams , Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman? , Letra , Lyrics
To really love a woman
To understand her -
you gotta know her deep inside
Hear every thought -
see every dream
N' give her wings -
when she wants to fly
Then when you find
yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
Ya know ya really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she's really wanted
When you love a woman
you tell her that she's the one
Cuz she needs somebody to tell her
that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?
To really love a woman
Let her hold you -
til ya know how she needs to be touched
You've gotta breathe her - really taste her
Til you can feel her in your blood
N' when you can see your
unborn children in her eyes
Ya know ya really love a woman
When you love a woman
you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman
you tell her that she's the one
Cuz she needs somebody to tell her
that you'll always be together
So tell me have you ever really -
really really ever loved a woman?
You got to give her some faith - hold her tight
A little tenderness - gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin' good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman.
Oh thinkin’ about all are younger years.
There was only you and me.
We were young and wild and free.
Now nothing can take you away from me.
We've been down that road before.
But that's over now.
You keep me coming back for more.
And baby your all that I want.
When your lying here in my arms,
I’m finding it hard to believe were in heaven.
And love is all that i need.
And i found it there in your heart,
It isn't to hard to see were in heaven.
Oh once in your life you find someone.
Who will turn your world around,
Bring you up when your feeling down.
Ya-nothing can change what you mean to me.
Oh, there's lots that I can say.
Just hold me now.
Cause our love will light the way.
Chorus
I've been waiting for so long.
For something to arrive.
For love to come along.
And now my dreams are coming true.
To the good times and the bad.
I'll be standing here by you - oh.
Chorus
Your all that I want, your all that I need.
It still feels like our first night together
Feels like the first kiss and it's getting better baby
No one can better this
I'm still holding on and you're still the one
The first time our eyes met - it's the same feeling i get
Only feels much stronger - i wanna love ya longer
You still turn the fire on...
So if you're feeling lonely ... don't
You're the only one I'd ever want
I only want a make it good
So if I love ya a little more than i should...
Please forgive me - i know not what i do
Please forgive me - i can't stop loving you
don't deny me - this pain i'm going through
Please forgive me - if i need ya like i do
Please believe me - every word i say is true
Please forgive me - i can't stop loving you.
Still feels like our best times are together
Feels like the first touch
We're still getting closer baby
Can't get close enough
I'm still holding on - you're still number one
I remember the smell of your skin
I remember everything
I remember all your moves - i remember you
I remember the nights - ya know i still do.
So if you're feeling lonely... don't
You're the only one i'd ever want
I only wanna make it good
So if I love ya a little more than i should.
Please forgive me - i know not what i do
Please forgive me - i can't stop loving you
Don't deny me - this pain i'm going through
Please forgive me - if i need ya like i do
Please believe me - every word i say is true
Please forgive me - i can't stop loving you.
One thing i'm sure of - is the way we make love
And the one thing i depend on
Is for us to stay strong
With every word and every breath i'm praying
That's why i'm saying...
Please forgive me - i know not what i do
Please forgive me - i can't stop loving you
Don't deny me - this pain i'm going through
Please forgive me - if i need ya like i do
Never leave me - i don't know what i'd do
Please forgive me - i can't stop loving you
When its love you give - I'll be a man of good faith
Then in love you'll live - I'll make a stand I won't break
I'll be the rock you can build on - be there when you're old
to have and to hold
When there's love inside - I swear I'll always be strong
Then there's a reason why - I'll prove to you we belong
I'll be the wall that protects you - from the wind and the rain
from the hurt and pain
Lets make it...all for one and all for love
Let the one you hold be the one you want - the one you need
Cuz when it's all for one - it's one for all
When there's someone that should know - then just let your feelin's show
and make it all for one - and all for love
When it's love you make - I'll be the fire in your night
Then it's love you take - I will defend - I will fight
I'll be there when you need me - when honour's at stake
this vow I will make...
Lets make it...all for one and all for love
Let the one you hold be the one you want - the one you need
Cuz when it's all for one - it's one for all
When there's someone that should know - then just let your feelin's show
and make it all for one - and all for love
Don't lay our love to rest - cuz we can stand up to the test
We got everything - and more - that we had planned
More than the rivers that run the land
We've got it all in our hands
Here I am
This is me
There's nowhere else on earth I'd rather be
Here I am
It's just me and you
Tonight we make our dreams come true
It's a new world
It's a new start
It's alive with the beating of young hearts
It's a new day
It's a new plan
I've been waiting for you
Here I am
Here we are
We've just begun
And after all this time
Our time has come
Yeah here we are
Still goin' strong
Right here in the place where we belong
Oh it's a new world
It's a new start
It's alive with the beating of young hearts
It's a new day
And a new plan
I've been waiting for you
Here I am
Here I am
Yeah
Here I am
This is me
There's nowhere else on earth I'd rather be
Here I am
It's just me and you
Tonight we make our dreams come true
Oh it's a new world
It's a new start
It's alive with the beating of young hearts
It's a new day
It's a new plan
I've been waiting for you
Oh it's a new world
It's a new start
It's alive with the beating of young hearts
It's a new day
It's a new plan
I've been waiting for you
(Waiting, waiting waiting)
Here I am
Here I am
Right next to you
Suddenly the world is all brand new
Here I am
Here I am
Where I'm gonna stay
Now there's nothin' standing in our way
Here I am
This is me
Don't want diamonds don't want gold
Don't want fashion don't wanna be cool
Don't wanna hustle just to get thru
When it all comes down babe
All i want is you
Don't wanna argue don't wanna fight
Don't want no politics babe all thru the night
I told ya before gonna tell ya once more
For the last time baby open up your door
All i want is you all i want is you
Not any old girl will do
All i want is you
If ya don't need love ya gotta be nuts
The heaviest metal always rusts
Just you and me babe hangin' tough
It's gotta be it's gonna be it's gotta be love or bust!
Don't need a doctor don't need a nurse
Don't need a prescription babe
Only make me feel worse
Don't need a license don't need insurance
Don't need a ticket where we're goin' babe
You got my assurance ya
I told ya before-gonna tell ya once more
For the last time baby open up your door
All i want is you all i want is you
Not any old girl will do
All i want is you
If ya don't need love ya gotta be nuts
The heaviest metal always rusts
Just you and me babe hangin' tough
It's gotta be it's gonna be it's gotta be love or bust!
Rescue me from the mire
whisper words of desire
rescue me - darling rescue me
with your arms open wide
want you here by my side
come to me - darling rescue me
when this world's closing in
there's no need to pretend
set me free - darling rescue me
I don't wanna let you go
so i'm standing in your way
i never needed anyone like i'm needin' you today
Do i have to say the words?
do i have to tell the truth?
do i have to shout it out?
do i have to say a prayer?
must i prove to you how good we are together?
do i have to say the words
Rescue me from despair
tell me you will be there
rescue me - darlin' rescue me
Every dream that we share
every cross that we bear
come to me - darlin' rescue me
Wanna be young - the rest of my life
Never say no - try anything twice
Til the angels come - and ask me to fly
Gonna be 18 til i die - 18 til i die
Can't live forever - that's wishful thinkin'
Who ever said that - must of bin' drinkin'
Don't wanna grow up - i don't see why
I couldn't care less if time flies by
18 til i die - gonna be 18 til i die
Ya it sure feels good to be alive
Someday i'll be 18 goin' on 55! - 18 til i die
Anyway - i just wanna say
Why bother with what happened yesterday
It's not my style - i live for the minute
If ya wanna stay young - get both feet in it - 18 til i die
A 'lil bit of this - a 'lil bit of that
'lil bit of everything - gotta get on track
It's not how ya look, it's what ya feel inside
I don't care when - i don't need ta know why
18 til i die - gonna be 18 til i die
Ya it sure feels good to be alive
Someday i'll be 18 goin' on 55! - 18 til i die
Ya there's one thing for sure - i'm sure gonna try
Don't worry 'bout the future
Forget about the past
Gonna have a ball - ya we're gonna have a blast
Gonna make it last
Oceans apart, day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice, on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain
If I see you next to never
how can we say forever
Wher ever you go, what ever you do
I will be right here, waiting for you
What ever it takes, or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
I took for granted, all The times
That I thought would last somehow
I hear the laughter, I taste the tears
But I can't get near you now
Oh can't you see it baby,
You've got me going crazy
Wher ever you go, what ever you do
I will be right here, waiting for you
What ever it takes, or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
I wonder how we can survive, this romance
But in the end if I'm with you, I'll take the chance
Oh you can't see it baby
You've got me going crazy
Wher ever you go, what ever you do
I will be right here, waiting for you
What ever it takes, or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
waiting for you.
Bryan:
i finally found someone, that knocks me off my feet
i finally found the one, that makes me feel complete
Barbra:
we started over coffee, we started out as friends
it's funny how from simple things, the best things begin
Bryan:
this time it's different,
Barbra:
dah dah dah dah
Bryan:
it's all because of you,
Barbra:
dah dah dah dah
Bryan:
it's better than it's ever been
Both:
'cause we can talk it through
Barbra:
oohh, my favorite line was "can i call you sometime?"
it's all you had to say
Both:
to take my breath away
this is it, oh, i finally found someone
someone to share my life
i finally found the one, to be with every night
Barbra:
'cause whatever i do,
Bryan:
it's just got to be you
my life has just begun
i finally found someone,
barbra:
ooh, someone
Bryan:
i finally found someone,
Barbra:
oooh . . .
Bryan:
did i keep you waiting,
Barbra:
i didn't mind
Bryan:
i apologize,
Barbra:
baby, that's fine
Bryan:
i would wait forever
Both:
just to know you were mine
bryan:
you know i love your hair,
Barbra:
are you sure it looks right?
Bryan:
i love what you wear,
Barbra:
isn't it the time?
Bryan:
you're exceptional,
both:
i can't wait for the rest of my life . . .
this is it, oh, i finally found someone
someone to share my life
i finally found the one, to be with every night
Barbra:
'cause whatever i do,
Bryan:
it's just got to be you
my life has just begun
i finally found someone,
barbra:
whatever i do,
Bryan:
it's just got to be you
Both:
my life has just begun
i finally found someone
I got my finger on the trigger
But I don't know who to trust
When I look into your eyes
There's just devils and dust
We're a long, long way from home, Bobbie
Home's a long, long way from us
I feel a dirty wind blowing
Devils and dust
I got God on my side
And I'm just trying to survive
What if what you do to survive
Kills the things you love
Fear's a powerful thing, baby
It can turn your heart black you can trust
It'll take your God filled soul
And fill it with devils and dust
Well I dreamed of you last night
In a field of blood and stone
The blood began to dry
The smell began to rise
Well I dreamed of you last night, Bobbie
In a field of mud and bone
Your blood began to dry
And the smell began to rise
We've got God on our side
We're just trying to survive
What if what you do to survive
Kills the things you love
Fear's a powerful thing, baby
It'll turn your heart black you can trust
It'll take your God filled soul
Fill it with devils and dust
It'll take your God filled soul
Fill it with devils and dust
[Harmonica solo]
Now every woman and every man
They wanna take a righteous stand
Find the love that God wills
And the faith that He commands
I've got my finger on the trigger
And tonight faith just ain't enough
When I look inside my heart
There's just devils and dust
Well I've got God on my side
And I'm just trying to survive
What if what you do to survive
Kills the things you love
Fear's a dangerous thing
It can turn your heart black you can trust
It'll take your God filled soul
Fill it with devils and dust
Yeah it'll take your God filled soul
Fill it with devils and dust
[Harmonica solo]
Born down in a dead man's town
the first kick i took was when i hit the ground
you end up like a dog that's been beat too much
till you spend half your life just covering up
Chorus
born in the u.s.a.
i was born in the u.s.a.
i was born in the u.s.a.
born in the u.s.a.
Got in a little hometown jam
so they put a rifle in my hand
sent me off to a foreign land
to go and kill the yellow man
Chorus
Come back home to the refinery
hiring man says, "son if it was up to me."
went down to see my v.a. man
he said, "son, don't you understand now."
Had a brother at khe sahn
fighting off the viet cong
they're still there he's all gone
He had a woman he loved in saigon
i got a picture of him in her arms now
Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
out by the gas fires of the refinery
i'm ten years burning down the road
now here to run ain't got nowhere to go
Chorus
I'm a long gone daddy in the u.s.a.
born in the u.s.a.
born in the u.s.a.
born in the u.s.a.
i'm a cool rocking daddy in the u.s.a.
I get up in the evening
And I ain't got nothing to say
I come home in the morning
I go to bed feeling the same way
I ain't nothing but tired
Man, I'm just tired and bored with myself
Hey there baby, I could use just a little help
You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
Message keeps getting clearer
Radio's on and I'm moving 'round the place
I check my look in the mirror
I wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face
Man, I ain't getting nowhere
Just living in a dump like this
There's something happening somewhere
Baby I just know that there is
You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
You sit around getting older
There's a joke here somewhere and it's on me
I'll shake this world off my shoulders
Come on, baby, the laugh's on me
Stay on the streets of this town
And they'll be carving you up all right
They say you gotta stay hungry
Hey, baby, I'm just about starving tonight
I'm dying for some action
I'm sick of sitting 'round here trying to write this book
I need a love reaction
Come on now, baby, gimme just one look
You can't start a fire
Sitting 'round crying over a broken heart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
You can't start a fire
Worrying about your little world falling apart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
I come from down in the valley
where mister when you're young
they bring you up to do like your daddy done
me and mary we met in high school
when she was just seventeen
we'd ride out of that valley down to where the fields were green
We'd go down to the river
and into the river we'd dive
oh down to the river we'd ride
Then i got mary pregnant
and man that was all she wrote
and for my nineteenth birthday i got a union card and a wedding coat
we went down to the courthouse
and the judge put it all to rest
no wedding day smiles no walk down the aisle
no flowers no wedding dress
That night we went down to the river
and into the river we'd dive
oh down to the river we did ride
I got a job working construction for the johnstown company
but lately there ain't been much work on account of the economy
now all them things that seemed so important
well mister they vanished right into the air
now i just act like i don't remember
mary acts like she don't care
But i remember us riding in my brother's car
her body tan and wet down at the reservoir
at night on them banks i'd lie awake
and pull her close just to feel each breath she'd take
now those memories come back to haunt me
they haunt me like a curse
is a dream a lie if it don't come true
or is it something worse
that sends me down to the river
though i know the river is dry
that sends me down to the river tonight
down to the river
my baby and i
oh down to the river we ride
I got my discharge from fort irwin
took a place on the san diego county line
felt funny bein' a civilian again
it'd been some time
my wife had died a year ago
i was still tryin' to find my way back whole
went to work for the ins on the line
with the california border patrol
Bobby ramirez was a ten-year veteran
we became friends
his family was from guanajuato
so the job it was different for him
he said' "they risk death in the deserts and mountains"
pay all they got to the smugglers rings,
we send 'em home and they come right back again
carl, hunger is a powerful thing."
Well i was good at doin' what i was told
kept my uniform pressed and clean
at night i chased their shadows
through the arroyos and ravines
Drug runners, farmers with their families,
young women with little children by their sides
come night we'd wait out in the canyons
and try to keep 'em from crossin' the line
Well the first time that i saw her
she was in the holdin' pen
our eyes met and she looked away
then she looked back again
her hair was black as coal
her eyes reminded me of what i'd lost
she had a young child cryin' in her arms
and i asked, "senora, is there anything i can do"
There's a bar in tijuana
where me and bobby drink alongside
the same people we'd sent back the day before
we met there she said her name was louisa
she was from sonora and had just come north
we danced and i held her in my arms
and i knew what i would do
she said she had some family in madera county
if she, her child and her younger brother could just get through
At night they come across the levy
in the searchlights dusty glow
we'd rush 'em in our broncos
and force 'em back down into the river below
she climbed into my truck
she leaned towards me and we kissed
as we drove her brothers shirt slipped open
and i saw the tape across his chest
We were just about on the highway
when bobby's jeep come up in the dust on my right
i pulled over and let my engine run
and stepped out into his lights
i felt myself movin'
felt my gun restin' 'neath my hand
we stood there starin' at each other
as off through the arroyo she ran
Bobby ramirez he never said nothin'
6 months later i left the line
i drifted to the central valley
and took what work i could find
at night i searched the local bars
and the migrant towns
lookin' for my louisa
with the black hair fallin' down
msa
She'll let you in her house
If you come knockin' late at night
She'll let you in her mouth if the
Words you say are right
If you pay the price
She'll let you deep inside
But there's a secret garden she hides
She'll let you in her car
To go drivin' round
She'll let you into the parts of herself
That'll bring you down
She'll let you in herheart
If you got a hammer and a vise
But into her secret garden, don't think twice
You've gone a million miles
How far'd you get to that place where
You can't remember and you can't forget
She'll lead you down a path
There'll be tenderness in the air
She'll let you come just far enough
So you know she's really there
She'll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say
She's got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need
Will always stay a million miles away
I was eight years old and running with a dime in my hand
into the bus stop to pick up a paper for my old man
i'd sit on his lap in that big old buick and steer as we drove through town
he'd tousle my hair and say son take a good look around this is your hometown
this is your hometown
this is your hometown
this is your hometown
In `65 tension was running high at my high school
there was a lot of fights between the black and white
there was nothing you could do
two cars at a light on a saturday night in the back seat there was a gun
words were passed in a shotgun blast
troubled times had come to my hometown
my hometown
my hometown
my hometown
Now main street's whitewashed windows and vacant stores
seems like there ain't nobody wants to come down here no more
they're closing down the textile mill across the railroad tracks
foreman says these jobs are going boys and they ain't coming back to your hometown
your hometown
your hometown
your hometown
Last night me and kate we laid in bed
talking about getting out
packing up our bags maybe heading south
i'm thirty-five we got a boy of our own now
last night i sat him up behind the wheel and said son take a good look around
this is your hometown
